MAC Girl About Town DUPE!!!

>> Wednesday, June 23, 2010

Ive had these lippies forever! MAC's Girl About town was one of the first loud lipsticks Ive ever bought. I loved Girl About Town's fuchsia color so much that I started buying tons of fuchsia lipsticks and Avon's Forever Fuchsia was the closest match to it. The only difference between the two is the texture. Girl About Town is more of an intense fuchsia and has a more creamy texture than Forever Fuchsia. Avon's Forever Fuchsia is from their perfect wear line, so it dries matte and lasts way longer than Girl About Time. For that reason I like Avon's lippy better than MAC's

Here are some swatches:

you can see subtle differences in the color swatched on my hand but when applied, its barely noticeable!

Avon Be Blushed Cheek Color

>> Wednesday, May 19, 2010

I'm not a fan of cream blush colors/blush sticks. They just don't last on my oily skin type and can be difficult to work this. Unfortunately, these blush sticks just reinforced that statement. The colors are nice and they are easier to blend than other cream blushes I've tried but they have absolutely no staying power! Note even when I put a powder blush over to set it. I just haven't gave up on them because I really like the color. If you have skin more towards the drier side, I suggest you give these a try. The colors below are Mandarin Glow & Golden Rose. Mandarin Glow is a dark orangey-red color and gives off the perfect "flushed" look and golden rose is a shimmery golden tan with warm undertones. Perfect for that sun-kissed look.

Pink Lippies

>> Wednesday, April 28, 2010

Here's some random swatches of some of my fave pink lipsticks. I LOVE the doll pink barbie look so I'm always on the hunt for cute pink lippies. In order, these are:

NYX fig
NYX tea rose
MARK crush
MAC pink noveau

NYX fig and tea rose are very similar. The difference I find is that tea rose is more for everyday wear, and has muted undertones. Fig is a lot brighter, which you can soften it for a daytime look, but I usually use this one at night. The consistency of these are very creamy, and they are somewhat long lasting. They are also very very pigmented

MARK crush is a very sheer lipstick. Its the perfect pink for everyday wear but it is very small for $6. Some things to note is that it is very sheer and has a minty taste/scent

MAC pink noveau is a very bright a pigmented lipstick, I would only recommend this for night looks
