Last night's FOTN

>> Tuesday, September 28, 2010

So....still cant find the charger to my camera so the pics here are all taken from my blinding blackberry lol. Sorry for the bad quality! Last night I went to see Carrie Underwood and let me tell you, it was AMAZING!!! Im so upset that I hadn't seen her sooner, especially when she released Carnival Ride, one of my favorite albums. Its weird because where I live, its rare to find someone who enjoys country music, at least in my age group. Carrie Underwood is an amazing vocalist, I teared up on mostly every song she performed! I dont know if you guys ever heard her single "Mama's Song" but it was so sweet when she performed it because there was a slide show of her and her mom over the years and it ended with her wedding picture. I loved it!

Heres another set of makeshift FOTN pics (sorry theyre blurry!)

What I used:

Face:
Revlon ColorStay in 350
Milani Secret Cover Concealer in Beige (I think thats the color...)
ELF blush & bronzing duo (bronzer only)
ELF Bronzer in Luminous (for highlight)

Brows:
ELF eyeliner in Ash

Cheeks:
MAC Dollymix

Eyes:
ELF eyelid primer
MAC showstopper
NYX eye pencil in yogurt
88 Warm Palette (gold color)
MAC liquidlast in point black
Wet n Wild Gel eyeliner in black for lower lashline
BF lashes

Lips:
OCC lip tar in memento

In other news, I was so excited for the Venomous Villains collection and now that its out online I dont know what to buy! I was thinking of Briar Rose and Bite of an Apple Beauty powder and blush but I feel I have colors similar already. Also, I was thinking of getting Toxic Tale lipstick but $15.50 for a lipstick I'm probably not gonna wear everyday, is it really worth it??? and on the off chance I do end up loving it its limited edition so what will I do when it runs out??? decisions, decisions...

What are you picking up?

still cant find camera charge :(

>> Saturday, September 18, 2010

There's so many posts I want to do but Ive been limited because I cant find the charger to my freaking dead camera! I finally bought some storage boxes to organize my makeup in and in the process of my MAJOR makeup organization I re-discovered so many neglected gems that I cant wait to play with! Its sad how I have tons of makeup barely touched and I still go makeup shopping like a maniac! I really need to stop though, I did however buy some much needed makeup brushes from coastal scents though...but after that - no more buying makeup until the Venomous Villains collection! Ive officially made that promise to myself :)

Also, Dee from MakeupThoughts asked me to be a guest writer on her blog, shes an avid proponent of cruelty free cosmetics as well. I strongly suggest you check her blog out, she has some pretty cool posts! Sorry Ive been lagging on the post Dee, but I will be working on it this week! It really means a lot to me that you would asked me to be a guest writer on your blog so from the bottom of my heart - Thank You!

Anyhoo, for the sake of posting, heres a little makeshift FOTD taken from my phone. I used my coastal scents warm palette and OCC lip tar in hush...which btw, I LOVE OCC lip tars!!! Cant wait to find my charge to do a post on that!

Hope everyone's having a lovely weekend!

♥ Leah

San Bruno Fire

>> Saturday, September 11, 2010

I wanted to touch up on the post below regarding the massive gas station explosion this past week in San Bruno. As I mentioned prior, I know what it feels like to lose almost everything in a fire, the only things I didn't lose were the most important of all - my family and pets. Its amazing how fast a fire can grow and destroy and its isnt easy picking up where you left off and starting your whole entire life from scratch. I could only imagine how much for difficult it is for people that have lost more than I did.
One teacher from the college I go to lived a couple houses away from that gas station. When it has exploded, she heard a big bang and felt the house shake. Thinking it was an earthquake, she rushed outside to check on her two children playing in the backyard. As soon as she stepped outside she watched in horror as  houses in her neighborhood exploded one by one. She grabbed her kids and ran inside unknowing that her whole back and hair were engulfed in flames.
Many are injured, homeless and the death toll is rising. If you are interested in making donations, please click here. Even if you are unable to donate to this specific fund, I STRONGLY suggest that you contact your local Red Cross or fire relief fund and donate there. You never know when something like this is going to happen, and those affected will need whatever they can get.
God Bless, Leah

FOTD & update on my crazy week!

So much to do, so little time... I dont know if you guys heard of the gas station explosion in San Bruno CA but that was right near my parents home, and the college I go to! I thank God that none of my loved ones were injured and Im praying for those who have been. Ive had my whole entire house burn down a couple years ago and it was devastating. My heart really goes out to those affected my this huge explosion.

In other news, Ive been so stressed balancing my social life w/ school and home life lately. I'm really trying to make an effort to hang with my besties more often and its becoming so difficult with all the wedding planning, school and plus Ive been strapped for cash ever since I moved out. Not to mention that before I used to live with in a 10 min driving radius from all my friends and now Im 30 minutes away and have to pay 5 bucks in toll just to get back into the city. Ugh...

Hope everyone is having a wonderful 1st of the month...I wanted to do a FOTD but my camera went dead and I cant find the charger :(

Im gonna be a little MIA because of school. I still read everyones blogs quite regularly but I haven't got a chance to comment on a lot of interesting posts though. Hopefully Ill have a little down time in class to catch up in the beauty blogging world. My class is 3 hours long and super boring so tonight Im planning on bring the laptop and playing some poker tourneys online. My teacher gave us a list of all the homework we will have until the semester is over and I made sure I completed the next 3 weeks of homework in advance so I have my discreet leisure time in class :) Its the last law class I have to take for my paralegal degree so theres nothing really new Im learning anyway

Anyhoo, I gotta finish getting ready to run some errands....Laters on the menjay.
