ELF Eye Transformer Palette
>> Tuesday, June 1, 2010
Heres my review of the ELF's Eye Transformer which is, in my opinion, a waste of $3.00 lol. Here is the description ELF gives online:
Convert your shadows into brand new shades with these four opalescent shadows. Wear alone, under, over or in combination with your other makeup. The opal tones transform your dark color into a new shimmering hue.
To me, this is just a palette of 4 shimmery eye shadow colors that I would never use ever in the tones that they are. When I initially bought this palette I thought it would great for highlighting my brow bones. Honestly I don't know what to do with them, but I definitely know that I cant wear any of these colors alone. I mean, the colors here are shimmery tones of GREEN, ORANGE, PINK and PURPLE! What am I going to do with that? They're too shimmery to wear alone but the color of the shadows are too bold to wear as an accent or as a highlight. I guess they work best if you know how to blend and mix them as stated in the description but I'm not that talented in the makeup arts to make these work for me that way
If you have this or have any good ideas on how to use this puh-leeeeze let me know! Either than that, back to the unused makeup drawer this goes because Im too cheap to throw this away :P

...and everything girly under the sun!
use it in the inner corner of your eyes? lol.. idk
LOL. I totally agree with every single thing you think of this eye-transforming palette ! When I got this, I was like "How the hell can you transform dark colors with these colors???" It just didn't make sense and sounded nonsense and it still does. It's one of the most useless product ELF created...well to someone like me who isn't a makeup professional artist ! =P
I saw some swatches somwhere (I forget where XP) of these shadows over a dark shadow and they looked really pretty... like they made the dark color opalescent and shimmery! I actually have this palette but I have not tried it out yet. So Idk if it truly works that well... but the swatches I saw had me convinced they actually do something awesome lol :P
LOL..you try it as a base and see how it works out? Weird color combinations I tell ya..at first glance I thought it was a corrector for the eyes or something.
thx for those swatch huny :)
xoxo
I'd say just change your brush into a more fluffy one, and i think you can make it into a lighter contras on your skin and prolly you can make it into a highlight :)
i use it over black shadow and it turns all the colours into deep metallic smokey shades!
These colors all seem suitable for inner tear duct highlight. You can probably layer 2 of them, choose the darkest in the crease for a shimmery look.
hmmm.. thanks for the warning.. 3 dollar waste.. lol.
leah, you never responded to my text...but my sister just discovered elf at target and she bought hella stuff. ha....it made me think of you. :)
I saw this one at the store also but dunno how to use it:) by the way just a new follower here
interesting blog <3
I'll visit u
Pretty colors but they are a bit too light to use just on their own. They defiently need a darker color for the crease of your eye!
