Face & Eye Highlighters

>> Monday, May 17, 2010

Here's a review on some products I think are great to use for face & eye highlighting. The products are:

ELF All Over Face Color in Spotlight
This is a great highlighter for your face and browbone. Its has a very creamy consistency and glides on with ease. The color of this is a pearly white but when applied the pigment is very opaque leaving behind just traces of the pearl shimmer. The stick itself is extremely small but at 1 buck you really cant complain about that

ELF Bronzer in Luminous
On ELF's website, this is listed under "Bronzers" but I see it more as a highlighter. Like the ELF all over color stick mentioned above, this is also a great highlighter for your face and brow bone and its only a dollar. In the compact the color looks like a shimmery tan but its actually a lot lighter than that when applied. This is a shimmery light gold color that would work well with any skin tone. Ive heard from other reviews that this breaks easy but mine has yet to do so

MAC Paint Pot in Bare Study
I use this as a eye shadow base & brow bone highlighter more than a face highlighter. The pigment of this is a cool-toned pearl with pink and gold shimmers. This is a more pricey alternative to the previous mentioned at $16.50

NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Cottage Cheese
I bought this as a cheaper alternative to High Beam as a highlight for my tear duct. In my opinion, this works better than High Beam which is great because I bought this at $1.99 & High Beam was close to $30. The only thing High Beam has on this is that you can use High Beam all over your face whereas this I only use in my eye area. This is the strongest pigment out of all the highlighters mentioned and comes out very similiar to what it looks like in solid form. The only complaint I have about this pencil is that it doesnt go well with the jumbo pencil sharpener I already have. I think you'd have to buy the one from NYX.

Love all of these you posted!

OMG Thanks for the correction Janine! lol shows how much I want painterly! When I bought bar study I originally wanted painertly (and still do) so thats why I probably keep getting those two mixed up hahah. It is now edited :)

Thanks for the comments ladies!
